Observations from the Zoo

Such an injustice, as children we are told that from God we fell
where are my angels, where's my golden one?
and where is my hope now that my heros have gone?
Some are being beaten, some are being born, and some can't tell the difference anymore.

Ah, nothing like Trader Joe's to sooth the spirit. I believe that all of the universe's good impulses and creations can have been discovered at some point in time inside one of their store, even if it is difficult to visit without encountering someone from LSU.

Frankie, I had a presem student invite me along for a vespers service of singing for the sick at hospitals. LOL!

a different hour

"No doubt, too, at this very moment
a snake is sunning itself in Calcutta.
And somewhere a philosopher is erasing
'time's empty passing' because he's seen
a woman in a ravishing dress.
In a different hour he'll put it back."

Man do I miss having the internet at my fingertips. There have been so many wonderfully deep one-liners that have been lost to the sands of time due to my disconnect from the worldwideweb. ;)

The summer is looking up people. August has mellowed, the Godmother is back in town and I have almost finished creating the perfect coffee shop skirt with my own two hands + a sewing machine. I've never truly made anything on the sewing machine before.

I miss you all, but things are going well. I've discovered a nice chinese food place near campus, spent many hours in Barnes and Noble and generally made a bum of myself.

An update for those who might be interested: I somehow slept in till 11:07am this morning so I guess that officially ends the "I can't sleep in past 9am" drought.

until next time I find myself with a keyboard under my fingers.

some mornings I can face God face to face

others, I need to come to him through one of his more gentle prophets.

For the record, the last few days were beautiful. :D

Now on to the August list.

37 days, lol. whew. :)

The tree murders or out in force on campus. They have thus far cut down three truly beautiful trees on the campus mall including one that was shading south hall. shame on them.

Becca's leaving me soon. sniff. sniff.
I thought we were more than that.

today has been insane.

I almost packed up my bags and moved out early this morning, but the cold hand of money stopped me.

I only got four hours sleep.

Turns out that my haircut appointment was for 9am not 9:30am. Thank goodness she took me anyway. She's an artist and I would trust my hair to no one else.

Between my haircut and John Denver on IV I'm almost myself again.

After all, some one calling Piccaso's paintings ugly and Piccaso and idiot doesn't take away the genious of his work.

But he's on an airplane and I still believe in humanity.

"So a lot of history is now gone forever. The Campaigners for Real Time claim that just as esy travel eroded the differences between on country and another, and between one world and another, so time travel is now eroding the differences between one age and another. 'The past,' they say, 'is now truly like a foreign country. They do things exactly the same there.'"

"'Were the zarking photon have you been?' hissed Ford, panic stricken.
'Er, well,' stutttered Arthur, not really knowing how to sum it all up that briefly, 'here and there. What are you doing here?'
Ford turned his wild eyes on Arthur again.
'They won't let us in without a bottle,' he hissed."

I woke up this morning with hair remenicent of an 80's music video. [slept on it wet last night, but it's getting cut Wed. morning. (Yay!)] I'll also forgot to arm my alarm and so I woke up this morning after I was supposed to have left the house. What can I say, in the master plan I wasn't supposed to be working this mon. I was supposed to be officially vegging. My brain has taken a bit of adjusting to the fact that it isn't allowed to vegitate at this point in time after all.

I went to the OC fair yesterday with Becca. It was lots of fun even if it did leave me with a faintly sticky/greasy feeling and a decidedly bloated feeling from the amount of deepfried oil I consumed and the monetary cost of that priviledge. Sadly, I didn't not successed in abtaining the bowel of chocolate covered strawberries that I had lusted over, but trust me it was wisest. There are so many things that only make sense at a fair and barely manage to there. And no, I didn't see any animals.

I would leave you with yet another Hitchhiker's quote but my lunch break is wearing thin so I leave you only with this:
Only Two more Days! yay! :)
