The travel gods were willing.

It took almost 36 hours and fighting tooth and nail to get out of Barcelona. I slept two nights in a row on trains, without showering after Moroco and the second was sitting up right in a train car in which a bunch of Spanish and American 20-somethings had turned the back part of the car (the part where you get on and off the train) into a bar. The Americans just had wine, the Spainards had coca-cola and ice.

I have decided the Europe in August is one big traveling party. Admittedly it isn't August yet.

So I'm here, at the internet and I need to email Leiden about accomadations. I can't find and address for them on-line. Of course the address is listed in our LonelyPlanet guide book. Of course the guide book is back in the tent. sigh.

But the food here is better than I remember it. :D

Only one more day to go. :(
But it's ok because today I found a cute boy today that looks a little like Jimmy Dean and he said we could run away together tomorrow evening. ;)
Maybe to the South of Spain ;)

I took my grammer final today. It went ok. I'm fairly certain I kept my "A." However, after I turned it in, my grammer teacher gave me a very nice speech (much of which I couldn't under stand because he was whispering and I didn't want to ask him to repeat when he was complimenting me) and a hug. Then after I was out of the building I realized that I got 6 questions wrong. (maybe more, it's always possible that something I thought was right wasn't.) *sigh*

But atleast I made it to Carrefour this week and was able to buy my Spanish shoes to take back.

Also, I have found someone to take my suitcase to Newbold for me. :) Yay!
And a way to get my brother's birthday present to him sometime near his actual birthday. :) Yay!

We apologize for the delay

sparkala.blogspot.com is temporarily back on line.

*The weather here has been cool and raining the last few days. I think it is trying to make it up to me for being so unreasonable hot in June.
*Hopefully by sometime tomorrow I will have a train ticket and a room booked for Sevilla.
*I can now competently and confidently handle to the complexities of restuarant transactions in Spanish, even wrong charges, extra costs for bread and vegetarian elaborations.
*Pharmacists in Spain are pushing. Reminds me of one of the reading assignments of 20th century french culture last quarter.
*So, "monotores" aren't supposed to date students (well, duh). So much for that one.
*Would he just come out of the closet already?
*Lonely Planet is muy guay.
*I don't think I like Spanish food. Though I do like Horchata. I want to go back to Horchataria Daniel. :(
*I am so far, so far away from the home of my parents.
*I sent a postcard the other day. It was good.
*I have elbow room.
*I am competent.
*I am in a place without proving.

Thank you to all of you who have emailed me. I really appreciate it.
