I made some very interesting discoveries online today. I think I shall be able to return to LSU in the fall. There were a few moments when I feared I would have to run away to Poland or Morocco and never finish my undergraduate degree. But I see the light!

And may I just say, Yay for living by the Dao! :D

I'm getting my haircut this afternoon. The girl at the front desk recommended the place. She's the daughter of a hairstylist so hopefully she knows what she's talking about. I'm nervous, but my hair is so bushy and oddly shaped that either way (no cut or bad cut) I'll have to wear a hat the rest of the trip. I figure this way there is at least a 50/50 chance of improvement.

:P

*Amsterdam is cool. :p

*I now have a detailed attack plan for the research and the redtape. Let's see if it works. ;)

*I haven't heard from the boy in 5 days.

Well, today I had the thrill of spending 36 euros replacing items that I had either lost or given away. And still I have not been able to find a traveling soap dish to buy!

*Travel Towel (which I strongly suspect of not being as good of quality as the one I left in my hostel room in Strasbourg. Also, that one was on sale when I bought it. This one was not. On the positive side, the one I lost had developed a funky smell that I wasn't entirely certain I would be able to get rid off and now there will be no confusion between me and the young man as to which towel belongs to who.)
*Clothesline (again not as good, but atleast this time cheaper.)
*Locks for locker in room (I gave mine to the young man so he could lock the tent in Eastern Europe. I hope he is.)

So, I'm ready to leave Strasbourg, but I don't get to until tomorrow morning. What to do with myself between now and then? No clue.

The Modern Art Museum was closed to day. Apparently it's one of the best in the world. How could I forget that no museums are opened in Europe on Monday?

Also, I'm tired of the rain. I'm tired of not knowing French. I'm tired of German tourists approaching me in broken French and begging for directions. I'm tired of the occasional French tourist approaching me and begging in fluent French for directions. I'm tired of important public buildings only being open by appointment. I'm tired of the incessent rain and cold. It's August for pete's sake! AND I am very tired of French men approaching me and asking for a light. *sigh*

Tomorrow I'm going to The Netherlands! Yay!

I have this theory that the Dutch are like the Californians of Europe. Only since it's of Europe they are even more so. I mean, they were the first country to legalize weed and gay marriage.
