Observations from the Zoo

So, I'm thinking about visiting my Guru on Monday and demanding a mantra, or at the very least a Koan. That or I'm converting to Tibetan Buddhism. Why Tibetan? because it has a good balance of the tantric plus all of that cool, underlying paganism nature worship. lol
[anyone who is finding me particularly odd right now: read The Da Vinci Code.]

I wish I had my J.D. already. I know a mechanic I would like to have "talk" with. . .

So, Slackman, when do we start the purging?

Notes from class:

101 Koans and their answers
Dr. J: "Well that is a Western prostitution of the process if I ever heard of one."

I think now would be a good time to reiterate something I have said many times: "There are a lot of cool men on campus, unfortunetly most of them have too much hair on their faces, not enough on their heads and are married." sorry, girls.

Luminous

I will write on the face of the moon and send
you luminous etchings of this silent city quieted
in pale and stinging snowfall; rounded moss-
velvet cheek of child, rosy and rolled in sleep
and dreams and blankets, my own face
learning the contours of hope.

I will find the words to write to you in petal-flurries
of the wings of birds that rise from my belly and
my blood, birthing stars from my throat. As the fingers
of your voice draw me into you, I will feed on your
laughter, fall into your silences, and harbour
you in luminosity. Until you speak again,
I will catch you vibrant and dancing in the shimmering
purple-green of northern lights, my waiting arms
encircling you as horizon makes covenant with sky.

"It is important that students bring a certain ragamuffin, barefoot, irreverence to their studies; they are not here to worship what is known, but to question it."

hehehe, the week is half over and thus far I have attended one class, that's right one class which met for only an hour. :)

But the much cooler news is that I get to go to Seattle. A spot opened up and I get to go if Dr. D can get the ticket switched over to my name. I am patiently, yet anxiously awaiting his arrival at the office this morning.

Christmas break was most enjoyable even if it seemed as if I was spending at least half of it driving from one parking lot to another. At least I finally managed to get my ceiling painted. Red that is.

Thanks Gothika for the gloves, they are keeping my hands nice and warm even now as I type.

Happy 5th of January everyone!
